Bureau County, Illinois

Bureau County is a county in North Central Illinois, along the Illinois River.

It is named for the Belleau (mispronounced to Bureau) family, who owned a trading post. The seat and largest city are both Princeton.

It borders Lee, Putman, LaSalle, Marshall, Stark, Henry and Whiteside Counties.

Main Highways include I-80, I-180, US-6, US-34, IL-26, IL-29, IL-40 and IL-92.
